High Voltage BBQ

High Voltage BBQHigh Voltage BBQ was founded in 2009 by Jason Blount after he competed in some smaller competitions in the Ft. Worth area and did really well.  He immediately enlisted the help from his brother Steve Blount and friends Jamey McCurry and Rocky Jackson to bring High Voltage BBQ to life.  Everyone involved really had the same outlook about BBQ and competitions...it's was a great excuse to get friends and family together and have a party!  That's how we do our best work, when there is excitement and people having a great time all around us.

In 2011 we competed in the KCBS sanction competion at the Bedford Blues and BBQ festival.  Of course, we had a huge party!  We were lucky enough to be in the spot next to Tim's Tailgate BBQ Team that weekend and forged a friendship with Tim, Cowboy Don and Bryan McClarty that has become a highlight of our lives.  As we talked to Tim and the boys that weekend we realized that we were all alike in the desire to use what we do to do some good.  We had already been helping out in charity efforts when the opportunities arose.  Tim told us about Camp Craig Allen and we were excited to be able to help raise money for them.  They also came alongside us to help raise money for charities we support like Special Olympics and Operation BBQ Relief.

That is really what defines High Voltage BBQ.  Family, friends, food and helping other people at the same time.
